Big Blue had a bit of a cooling problem so OG and I have been tinkering with it for the last few weeks. After much experimentation I am happy to report that it is greatly improved. We had to remove and relocate the PS cooler and trans cooler from the front of the radiator, overdrive the water pump pulley, and switch a EMP/STEWART high flow thermostat. We took it on some long drives today including some 4LO cruising around the yard and it never climbed above 210 deg.

It was instantly apparent to all who drove Big Blue that it had too much stall. The engine guy, trans guy, and the dudes at monster transmission talked me into the 2200-2500. It was way too much stall speed so after arguing with Monster and eventually having them tell me they no longer wanted to do business with me I ended up with a heavy duty 1800-2200rpm unit from hughes. It sucked swapping it out but it was worth it.

After all of this was lined out we were finally able to do some tuning. I didn't want to push my luck too far but we added some timing and took out some fuel with very nice results. It runs really strong for something with 44's. Hopefully this thing will stay out of the garage long enough for the Scodum Fab crew to get prepared for Harlan!

I heard that thing coming down my driveway and when I walked outside I just saw the ass end taking off down Reed Station. I thought we were gonna take it through the septic lagoon.

Sorry man I wanted to stop by and see "harlan transportation" while we were cruising big blue and I didn't think you were home. Oh, and blue is pretty dammed quick for something on 44's. I have had the pleasure of piloting it during Nate's tuning sessions and it runs strong.
